Program Information The Automotive Technology Program at Cypress College covers virtually all aspects of the automobile. Upon completion of the Associate of Science degree program, the student has a general knowledge in the following areas:
  • Engines and Engine Machining
  • Brakes, Suspension Systems, Alignment
  • Tune-up and Emission Controls
  • Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles, Power Trains
  • Automotive Electrical Systems
  • Climate Control Systems
Classes are designed to provide the student with experiences which simulate job-related tasks. Courses also provide a path into higher education with emphasis on the automotive industry and management. Cypress College has the latest special tools, equipment, and training resources to help the students attain their educational and professional goals. Instructors at Cypress College have both trade experience and formal education to provide the best quality education. The Automotive Technology Program is fully certified by the National Automotive Technician's Education Foundation (NATEF) as well as the Western Accreditation of Schools and Colleges (WASC). All instructors are ASE certified.
