A one unit course covering the practical application of the digital multi-meter (DMM). Students are encouraged to use their own DMM in this course as you work through hands-on practice diagnosing automotive electrical system service problems (DMM’s are available in the course if you do not have your own).
Note that this is a short term course and is designed to be paired with AT 162 C, Diagnostics and Digital Scopes, which runs for 12 weeks. Taking both courses equals a total of 3 elective units. It is recommended that you register for both courses during registration.
A two unit course covering the practical application of digital oscilloscopes. Cypress College has several different types of scopes for use in this course. You will have hands-on practice using the scopes for diagnosing the following:
- Engine and transmission sensor circuits
- Multiplex systems
- Controller Area Network (CAN) systems
Note that this is a short term course and is designed to be paired with AT 161 C, Diagnostics and Digital Meters, for a total of three units. It is recommended that you register for both courses during registration.
