We believe that for many people, the time spent at Cypress College might be their last formal education, and we strive to make sure this time is used as effectively as possible. The industry has many opportunities, but education is the key that opens the door to these opportunities.
We believe every good service mechanic needs to know how a system is designed, and every good designer needs to know how to service a system. Therefore, we do not divide our students into "mechanics" and "designers". Everyone takes the same block of classes and everyone progresses to the same level.
We believe that the most important subject for a potential mechanic is electrical controls. We have a very complete curriculum with substantial equipment used for the instruction of electrical controls as is used in the air conditioning, heating and refrigeration industry.
